Alby’s Coaching Philosophy

  • My Mastery coaching incorporates Curiosity, Awareness, Superpowers, and Tactics. But is based on the overarching paradigm of “Story.” Story is both a “container” for the overall framework of Mastery as well as one of the most powerful tactics.
  • I believe we all have a story. Over time many of us unintentionally allow our story to morph into something we would never recognize from earlier in our life.

Mastery Life Chapters

The loop from Doubt to Confidence is a Chapter of life. When a chapter ends, a new one will follow. Sometimes this happens quickly and sometimes it requires us to explore our lives and transition to a new beginning—a new Chapter and an opportunity to rewrite our story.

Our lives have many chapters which can be initiated by all sorts of events: a new job, a relationship, a move, a divorce, a job loss, birth of a child, death of a loved one... even boredom can trigger the beginning of a new Chapter. When a new chapter begins, we typically move from a place of confidence back to a place of self-doubt but that new chapter also triggers the opportunity for us to expand our story and continue on our journey to become the person we choose to be—the best version of ourselves

The Mastery Pillars

The four keys to Introvert Mastery are Curiosity, Awareness, Superpowers, Tactics, and Stories also known as CASTS.

Awareness is becoming aware of your current story. How have labels manifested themselves in your life? What are the limiting beliefs and assumptions you have inadvertently constructed about yourself? Awareness is the cornerstone for growth. With awareness, we will set goals and a plan of action, unleash your hidden superpowers, and identify the specific tactics needed for you to maximize your new opportunities.

Curiosity allows us to challenge our limiting beliefs and explore our potential. Curiosity opposes the resistance that keeps you stuck, and leads us to action, exploration, and discovery.

Tactics: Armed with an appreciation of your unique strengths, it’s time to deploy targeted strategies, or tactics, to deal with challenging situations. Struggling to make progress on your biggest goals can seem overwhelming when dealing with all the things life dishes out, but with proven tools and practical tips, the challenge becomes not only manageable, but actually rewarding, allowing you to thrive in your professional world.

Superpowers: We all have our own unique talents and natural advantages which I refer to as superpowers. These superpowers are, surprisingly, often overlooked and are sometimes even considered faults. With the clarity of awareness, you’ll view your introverted tendencies not as limits but as the true opportunities that they are. Superpowers can include abilities such as listening skills, people skills, deep thinking, focus, the ability to communicate in writing, public speaking, self sufficiency, observational skills, and the ability to connect one-on-one.

Mastery Stories

  • You will develop your Current Story based on the choices that have led you to where you are today and how you currently look at your labels, limiting beliefs, and any assumptions you may have incorporated into your way of thinking that got you to where you are today.
  • We’ll develop your New Story which will become your aspirational Story of who you choose to be. Your New Story is the ideal or best version of yourself.
  • And your Situational Stories will serve to help master challenging situations using the CASTS: Curiosity, Awareness, Superpowers, Tactics, and Stories.

Mastery Phases

As you learn and master CASTS, you will move through the 4 Mastery Phases: Call to Action, Exploration, Transformation, and Renewal. These phases are intended to evoke the hero’s journey character arc in storytelling and represent the growth you can expect as you master your story.

  • Your Call to Action is your choice to make a change to your life. To analyze your current story. Define your labels. Assess your limiting beliefs. And identify your big assumptions.
  • Exploration is an opportunity to validate your assumptions and examine your limiting beliefs through a process called prototyping. Prototyping will reveal the approach needed for transformation.
  • Transformation results from a new awareness and relationship with your labels and an application of tactics that support the plan of action to overcome your obstacles and achieve your goals.
  • Renewal is the final phase of a life Chapter. It’s a time to reflect and review your progress, course correct if necessary. In renewal, lessons can be solidified and you’ll transition into a place of confidence to continue your growth.
