About Alby
While in his teens, Alby Heredia began his career working alone as a solopreneur. Inspired and encouraged by a business owner who would become his first coach and mentor, he started Mari Inc., a software development company. The firm created custom software for trade schools participating in Federal Financial Aid programs and set Alby on a quest as a lifelong learner and advocate for the transformative power of coaching.
His dedication in that first endeavor led him to become a technical expert in Federal Financial aid. And, although an introvert at heart, the power of that first great coach helped him develop the confidence to grow his skills to manage, communicate, and develop people's potential. This personal growth translated directly into growth of his client base and the services he was able to offer. Soon, Alby was coaching and consulting a number of small businesses including trade schools, salons, a coffee shop, and even a hospital chain. Understanding firsthand the power of a committed coach, his goal was to become that same trusted resource for his clients.
An unexpected life change resulted in both a change of location and career. Alby moved back to the Portland, Oregon area and was hired as the managing editor for a group of trade newspapers. With Alby's process and management support and growth mindset, the company was able to double its monthly circulation to over 80,000 during his tenure with the company. And while the experience was one of the most enjoyable of his career, the call of entrepreneurship led him to start his next endeavor, Alby Associates, Inc.
While common in the post-Covid era, Alby's new company was unique for its time. With employees distributed nationally the company creatively used software and online tools to build a distributed, virtual, work-at-home workforce. This model allowed for a scalable company which could flex its support to meet the dynamic demands of the business. With a real estate and project management focus, the new company primarily supported the real estate industry.
Always improving his professional skills, Alby went on to earn the coveted Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. He leveraged this experience in the corporate world as a Senior Project Manager for Conduent, a Fortune 500 BPO company. The tools and strategies developed over the years allowed Alby to overcome his introverted tendencies in order to drive teams to success including large contact center implementations and global Annual Enrollment Period initiatives for high-profile medical insurance clients.
Presented with a new opportunity, Alby transitioned back to his passion for education and personal development. In 2022 he led the implementation of a global leadership development program to over 500 Conduent leaders. During this time Alby also formalized his coaching and facilitation skills becoming certified as an expert facilitator for DDI International.
Alby's goal of being a trusted resource was rewarded in 2022 when he was recognized out of over 10,000 employees as one of the company's model leaders and was awarded the Conduent Values Award for individuals who "consistently demonstrate the philosophy and values of a culture of excellence and for making a significant contribution to the organization."
Today, as a professional coach for companies and individuals, Alby's goal is to make that same contribution with others. Using his genuine and holistic approach to life and business, Alby shares the powerful strategies and tools he's learned and developed over the years while assisting each individual to unleash their own potential. His passion is to support others and to serve as an expert guide for those with a desire to grow personally and professionally through the power of coaching.
